Apprenticed with Anthony Robinson, England.
Journeyman with Manfred Bergmeister -Germany and Toni Benneton -Italy.
Advised on Crafts Council (GB) to develop an educational program for contemporary international Ironwork.
Helped organise two International Conferences on Forged Metalwork (1983-4).
Organised an International Exhibition on Forged Metalwork at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London (1984).
Advised on the establishment of degree courses in metal sculpture at West Surrey College of Art, Brighton Polytechnic and Newcastle Polytechnic.
Established several experimental workshops for hot worked metal & glass sponsored by Crafts Council (GB) and British Steel.
Exhibitions in Europe and North America.
Produced two films on forged metal sculpture for West Midlands Arts and Sheffield Arts.
Studied Anatomy and Biomechanics at Chiropractic and Osteopathy Colleges.
Presently working with Bidgood Consultants (Canada) & Metalgarden co.uk on projects world-wide with particular emphasis upon healthy solutions to public spaces. We are also dedicated to the educational aspect of our work; providing courses and visiting schools exploring the expressive qualities of metals and glass. The feedback from these activities is tremendous and has a strong influence on our work.
Our company has produced work for public places in many prestigious sites, a list of which is available. We specialise in unique designs for parks, entrances and churches and enjoy the patronage of the Royal Family, the Department for the Environment, English Heritage and many leading developers and architects. This does not preclude smaller domestic commissions as we enjoy solving a wide variety of problems and we will do our utmost to get the best results to fit both the site and the restraints of budget !
