I am an artist who has used both mechanical and electronic technology to both produce objects and to explore alternative approaches to communicating my ideas. The hands on world of forging hot metal seems far removed from the manipulation of bezier curves on a screen........yet both are so intertwined in my being that I draw no distinction between the realities of these two environments. At times the accidental change of form in a large piece of steel will inspire new approaches to the distortions of images on my computer........conversely an almost impossible twist of an object into multi dimensions on screen can drive me to unthought of shapes when I am playing with metal and glass.

How can I be precious about a drawing when it is so easy to store and repeat and vary and store and colour and repeat and vary and store..................and why should I be too reverent about a carefully made piece when I can almost effortlessly repeat shapes with lasers and power hammers...........and join them in a wide range of variations with all the sophisticated ease of modern welding.

Science gives me such a sense of intimacy with the materials that comprise my playmates each day.........and science constantly jolts me out of any preconceived solution to my universe and the attempts I make to say thankyou for this amazing life.

Please get in touch so that I can learn how to meet up with people who want to explore these , and many other issues.
